Terms of service

Welcome to The Serotone.
By visiting our site and/ or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/ or contributors of content. Please read them carefully.

1. License Grant

You may:

- Use the sounds in your personal and commercial music projects.

- Modify, edit, and combine the sounds with your own.

- Distribute and monetize your finished compositions (e.g., on streaming platforms, YouTube, BeatStars, etc.).

You may not:

- Resell, redistribute, or repackage any individual sounds, samples, or loops “as-is”.

- Use the sounds in sample libraries, virtual instruments, or competing products.

- Claim ownership of the raw sounds themselves.

2. Usage on BeatStars and Other Beat Leasing Platforms

If you use The Serotone sounds to create beats or instrumentals for sale on platforms such as BeatStars, Airbit, Traktrain, etc.:

- The Serotone will not take any splits or royalties from sales, leases, or licenses of your beats.

- You are free to sell or lease your beats at your own discretion.

3. Usage in Released Songs

When The Serotone sounds are used in a commercially released song (e.g., distributed to streaming services, label releases, or placements with artists), The Serotone is entitled to publishing splits as a contributor to the composition and/or master, where applicable.

Splits should be negotiated in good faith based on the contribution of The Serotone’s sounds to the final work. Typical splits range from 0%–50%, depending on the extent of use and creative contribution.

For clarity:

- We do not claim ownership of your full track.

- We do reserve the right to receive fair credit and publishing participation when our sounds form a significant part of a released work.

To clear or discuss splits before release, please contact us at soundsby@theserotone.com.

4. Intellectual Property

All sounds, samples, and related content remain the intellectual property of The Serotone. You are purchasing a license to use, not ownership of the original audio files.

5. Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final. No refunds will be issued once a download link has been accessed.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Serotone is not responsible for any damages, losses, or legal issues arising from the use or misuse of our sounds or products.

7. Agreement

By purchasing or using any product from The Serotone, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Use.
